Hikes

We have preferred routes that we have mainly walked. The duration of the route that we mention does not include any stops. You should careful in order to return before sunset. Always carry plenty of water (1 to 1.5 liters per person), although you will often find sources on the road. We recommend wearing stable and boots shoes and a hat to protect yourself from the sun. Always have food, such as biscuits, nuts or dried fruit.

What is Cobbled streets ( Kalnterimia):

Paths covered with stones, which facilitated the transportation of products with animals, mainly mules, between mountain villages to harbors of Pelion and vice versa. Over time, many of the cobbled streets have been destroyed and other have been neglected or paved with asphalt, but some of them have been in good condition until now and little has been restored. Some are marked and included in maps of the area.

Route Agia Paraskevi - Taxiarches

Duration 45 minutes.

Easy road for the whole family. From the square of Agia Paraskevi with the big plane tree, take the cobbled path that starts next to “Lost Monokeros”. You will get to the primary school and the Achilopoulou school. Οn the right,  after the chapel, the path is mainly in a chestnut forest with beautiful passages, small bridges and old houses that you never imagined to exist. Do not be afraid that you are lost. In one way or another you will reach the square with the Taxiarches church. Eat lightly in “Agnanti” or “Kalivi”, so that you can return.

Route Tsagarada - Damouhari

Duration 1 hour & 15 minutes

Walk this route even if you are not familiar with the hikes. There are many pleasant surprises that you will feel. Leave the main road and go down to the village of Agia Paraskevi, 100 meters from the junction. On the left, begins a nice wide well-preserved and marked the cobbled path to Damouchari. The route go downhill through houses, villas, mansions, churches, fountains, bridges, forest, full of surprises. Follow the markings and do not leave the path. Moreover, do not forget to stand in Vigla and enjoy the view of the Aegean Sea and Mount Athos before starting the last part of the route which is steep and downhill to the village. Make sure you have someone to pick you up (maybe us !!!) because you will not resist on the temptation to eat something int the wonderful Greek tavern  that you will find on the sea.

Route Milies - Tsagarada

Duration 3 hours & 30 minutes

Famous walk in the area of ​​walkers. Many people choose Pelion because of this route. Previously years, it was a whole cobbled road. It was the road of the season. Today the cobbled path is maintained almost the half, while on the other half there is an open path that is not lost. It is the most beautiful route. You pass through forests with beeches and dense wild vegetation. Many times you will stand to gaze the beaches and the sea. The cobbled streets start from the square of Milies, next to the library. Do not start if you are unfamiliar. 3.5 hours are a lot of hours for beginners.

Route Mylopotamos - Limnionas

Duration 1 hour.

Easy “sea” route. It passes over the rocky coast, through orchards and olive groves with old stone huts. You will find wooden bridges, chapels and fountains. The path starts from the side of Greek tavern of “Αγγελικά” in Mylopotamos.

Route Xourichti - Tsagarada

Duration 30 minutes.

It is worthwhile to do this journey because of the beautiful stone arched bridge, which is a real artwork and it is kept in a very good condition. You will find it at the end of your trip. From the square of Xourihti, we follow the road to the south. After the last houses, a rural road continues. Soon you will find the path that climbs up in a farm with large chestnut trees. It is clear and distinct.
